Today my brother has arrived for a several days visit, and he's brought homemade cookies with him. So good, with pine nuts, almonds and others. After a bit there were only one and a half left, and it has been hard to draw them and leave them there for the children!

Discussing electricity

During dinner today we've been discussing a bit about electricity, how a short-circuit happens and things like this and the conversation has quickly shifted to a fun comparison between the technology available when my husband and I were kids, when my dad was a kid, and now. And just a bit after the light has gone off. Everything black. Everyone excited (not only the kids! :D) Sadly it has only been 10 minutes but it has been so much fun. And then I've realised how differently we react to this now as well: at home we were all with frontal lamps, or with the lamp on the cellphone. When I was a kid we lighted candles, and when my dad was a kid, there was no such thing as electrical light going off!

Forest

Finally today I've been well enough to go for a run in the forest, and I am so happy about it! Ludo running around, his bell jingling, our feet crunching over the frozen soil because of the low temperatures these days. And I even got a couple of oak leaves that my husband has taken for me to draw :)

I am still with ear pain, more intermittently, less intense, but still non negligible. But you know, after two days without moving from home, the two previous ones just going out for a normal walk with my dog... I couldn't stand it anymore. So today I've been out twice to walk Ludo. And how good it feels. I want more!

Then I was thinking, what do I draw today that is related to this feeling? and then I realise nothing makes more sense than Ludo's bell: the bell we attach to its harness when we go out with him in the mountain or in the forest. I am eager to hear its sound again.

Bed and books

As the headache went off, these days I've just read and read. Yesterday I started a book at 8 pm, and I kept going until I finished it, at 5 am. The hours just went by. I guess after so much bed and sofa I am not that sleepy and I don't feel that tired. And the book was really hard to put aside. 
Now the pain in the hear and around is getting better so I am hoping I will be out again soon :) For the moment, I will just keep reading!

When a virus gets me this hard that I have to stop with everything, I am always scared it will evolve into an otitis. And voilà. Today I woke up with a very well known ear pain... But now yes, from this, it can only get better!

Today I've passed what I really hope is the peak of my flu. Now I am better but I don't remember the last time it got me that hard! Pain everywhere, body shivers, headache, throat hache, fever... 
My son Dani was seeing me so bad that he went in the garden to pick a little flower for me. And well, in the end it is not that bad to be taken care of. Luckily, my dad is around and took care of the kids and the dog while I rested. So, despite my firm convictions, things stopped a bit for me today :)

And yes... you're guessing right, my pile of clothes to fold is still there. But good news is that it is growing smaller :D

Today I was already relaxed and ready to just go through the bed ritual and ups, I realised I hadn't done the drawing of the day! It happened that while I was getting ready my husband was still washing dishes so I gave him a bit of company ;)

Reconstruction

Rather than a portrait, this is more a "reconstruction" of my son's Bruno face. Because he NEVER stops moving so you draw his nose from an angle, his eye from another trying to correct it and position it like the nose, the mouth from another one... Challenging!

He was watching a film, and he recommended me to draw him while drawing... :D

Today I had a beautiful and comfortable amount of time to draw, like an hour and a half which almost never happens. But as it turns out, I've spent a lot of it just turning around different villages in my car, trying to find THE place. I've been in Villeneuve, in Sergy, in Thoiry... And after a while I've just returned to the first place I'd been. In this little road in Villeneuve there are so many things to draw!

Despite all my indecision, I've had enough time to finish my sketch, and to be at school like 15 minutes in advance. Today, with this drawing, I've finished a sketch book. Tomorrow I will start a new one :D

Winters in Crozet since many years I pass them waiting for my daughter here at the parking of the télécabine in Crozet. With all children from the ski clubs descending at the same time, it is a bit like a lottery: she can be early in the line and come in with the first bunch, or she can be at the end and you freeze to death for an hour until she arrives! In the mornings though, the parking is quite quiet... and the slopes too! ;)

Skiing. Day... and night!

Today I've been skiing day and night, so I really couldn't draw anything else (yes, not the snow, I was skiing! ;) ). And yes, night, it is almost 1am and I'm just back :) It has been wonderful. The snow, the mountains, the trees... are so beautiful at night.
