Birds, finished

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/illustration

... and changed!

This one has evolved a lot during the creation process! And being entirely done with fine markers, there's really no break point between drawing and colouring, so it is, in some ways, trickier to control where the drawing goes, because you play with colour and textures balances all at once.

With this illustration I've gone a bit back to my origins. When I was a teenager and only painted with eyeball pens and fine markers. But back then, I used less colours too!

Birds

I took a couple of days off but I am back to drawing since some days too. Just a bit now and then when I can. And then, this one in progress is taking me long!

Yesterday it wasn't colouring day after all. But today we managed!
Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Underwater

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

Between yesterday and today, trying to please my kids demands drawing an underwater scene. Tomorrow is colouring day... for everyone at home! ;)

A little landscape... for many days

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

Lately is not a drawing per day but a part of an illustration per day! Illustrations take longer than a sketch, and well, I have other distractions too :D But the main goal of my project, which was to not let these other "distractions" prevent me from drawing for more than few days, is well being accomplished!

So this is a little landscape, that I started Friday night with a few plants, continued on Saturday with trees and houses, and finished today with clouds and mountains. I don't know if I will have time for colour today or tomorrow, so, here it is for now!

Too many people!

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/illustration
http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

All packed, way too many people!! :D I don't like too much being in crowds. Sometimes I'd think I'd like to go somewhere, a concert for example, then I think of the crowd and the idea doesn't seem that appealing anymore. Even this freakish but funny crowd would be a bit too much for me!

The Other Fauna in colour and done. And now, seeing it finished, at least one of my sons wants to colour it :)

The other fauna

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

These days I feel lazy about in situ sketches, and I enjoy the abstraction of drawing by just letting my hand go. This is the other fauna, quite packed indeed. Because aren't we too many anyways?
Tomorrow I'll go for colour, but I haven't yet decided how...

As a side and curious note, my kids do not want to colour this one! The strange people makes them feel a bit anxious I think!

Frozen World

Winter is so beautiful, isn't it? And Spring, and Summer, and Autumn... My children always ask me what is my favorite number, my favorite colour, my favorite food, my favorite season... and I really don't have a favorite. I love them all. But this one goes to Winter, before Spring comes.

In progress

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

Another work in progress, that I started today and will finish tomorrow. And you know I am very proud and touched to explain that my two little ones are eager to colour every one of these drawings. They have spent the weekend colouring their own versions, hours and hours... And today, they've been keeping an eye on my progress so that tomorrow we will, each of us, colour our copy :)

And now this looks very much like a winter landscape... And it was what I was thinking about when drawing it. But we'll see tomorrow, as colour can take you to unexpected places :)

Working setup

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

Today's drawing goes to my brother Martin. Even if he prefers illustrations and not sketches. But this is my poster working setup, thanks to him, because he offered me the wacom tablet I use so much for poster work. Thank you ♥

Jungle

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

This one goes for the last three days. Yesterday I couldn't finish painting, it was so late and I couldn't concentrate on what I was doing. Today I could finish. And I am happy with the result, that's what it counts, to draw and be happy about it, doesn't it?

Fantastic Worlds

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

Yesterday I just let my hand take me to where it wanted.
I couldn't finish it, so I finished it today, a drawing for two days. I guess it is not cheating, isn't it?

My wonderful dog Ludo sleeping after a day full of mountain and snow. I love him so so much.

Chopsticks

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

Today for dinner we've had my husband's world famous pasta soup. We all love it. Thin spaghetti cooked in vegetable broth, with melted mozzarella cheese. We eat it in a bowl using chopsticks, then drink the hot broth. Kids love it, and they always have the vegetables quite happy, also because they anticipate the soup is coming soon after!
And, nothing better than a hot soup after a day of ski :)

Day 61, a day later

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

Yesterday again it was another crazy day, linking one thing after the other with no pause to stop. The day finished with a pizza dinner and a sketch at midnight!
So, since technically I was going to post anyways with a day of delay, I figured I'd sleep before... ;)

Snow!

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

After three years or four of quite mild winters with not so much snow, this year we feel so lucky. First of March and we wake up with snow everywhere!
And you may wonder about yesterday's drawing, well, I did it but I didn't share it, because it was so late and I was still on my ski underwear and my to do list was way too long for the late hour. So, today, I've got double.

Yesterday I don't know at what time in the night...

And this evening at home
