Quiet Night

https://www.carolinadeluca.com/illustration

As days grow shorter and nights grow longer, there's plenty of quiet evening hours at home during the weekends (yes, even with three kids!). And peaceful family times are sometimes a source of inspiration.

Geometrical Landscape

https://www.carolinadeluca.com/illustration

I've gone full color to black and white in a couple of days. I guess it is the never ending rain, or the end of holidays or both?
Just kidding. To me, black and white or color, it doesn't have that straight meaning.
Have a nice week!

Animal Party

https://www.carolinadeluca.com/illustration

This one started as a couch scribble on a rainy afternoon... But one crazy eye led to a crazy animal who led to another crazy animal and I was having so much fun drawing it that later I had to color it to keep the fun going. Like if I was invited!

Have fun!

Spring Mountains

I finished this one yesterday. I was thinking I would let it rest and add some color later, but it might be as well I don't add color at all...

This an interpretation on how mountains look like in Spring around here. Flowers everywhere, snow patches, clouds and clear skies, and wind!! The drawing is quite big so I can't scan it, this is a picture taken with the cellphone. Background should then be completely white. I hope I get to the couple of previous ones I did soon! :)

Ciervos - Deer

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/illustration

Feels good to draw with finemarkers. It brings me back to so many years ago.
I'm loving going back to the feeling of drawing with them.
Have a nice weekend!

Mountains II

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/2018onedayonedrawing

I keep using this link although my project has evolved into something more like "draw as much as I can whatever I want to" :) Today, another one of the series Mountains, this one less controversial than the previous one ;) It took me long to finish, with several days with just the time to add few details. But the last days I made good progress. Now, colour?

Birds, finished

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/illustration

... and changed!

This one has evolved a lot during the creation process! And being entirely done with fine markers, there's really no break point between drawing and colouring, so it is, in some ways, trickier to control where the drawing goes, because you play with colour and textures balances all at once.

With this illustration I've gone a bit back to my origins. When I was a teenager and only painted with eyeball pens and fine markers. But back then, I used less colours too!

Drawing by the fire

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/urban-sketching

Things that start well go well and end well. Sometimes at least. Like this weekend. I really feel like I couldn't ask for more. Nothing extraordinary happened, and maybe that's the most extraordinary of all, just enjoy the ordinary. Isn't it?

Experimenting

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/urban-sketching

Wednesday afternoon. Gex. It is a bit too humid and rainy, and I feel lazy to draw outside. I go to a bar, and I try something else. Once there I think it is funny how often I drew in bars during my youth, and how little I get to do it now. So I enjoy the moment. It is early afternoon and the bar is calm. There's only few people who seem to be the habituals, as the bartender seems to know everyone by their name. Almost everyone watches the horse races displayed in the TV, and one of the clients wins 4 euros. Then is time for me to go. I ask the lady, and she kindly stamps my sketch.

As a side note: This is an example on how inspiration works. Because without yesterday's drawing, I probably wouldn't have thought of trying this today ;)

Patterns, it's all about patterns

http://www.carolinadeluca.com/illustration

And voilà the peacock finished. That was a hell of a work, and I don't know why, but it gave me a lot of thirst! I drank a lot of water while doing it!
